Indiana Jones 4 - Trailer
The last Indiana Jones movie, aptly titled The Last Crusade, was shown on May 1989. Now, nearly 20 years later, the daring man with fedora hat is back! The fourth installment of the popular series is tentatively titled “Indiana Jones and the City of the Gods”. It will be produced by LucasFilm Ltd. and directed by Steven Spielberg. The screenplay has been written by David Koepp. Spielberg states “George, Harrison and I are all very excited. We feel that the script was well worth the wait. We hope it delivers everything you’d expect from our history with Indiana Jones.”
The handsome Harrison Ford is back as the adventure-seeking treasure hunter Dr. Jones. With him is one of Hollywood’s fast-rising stars, Shia LaBeouf who will star as his son. Other cast members include renowned actor Jim Broadbent, John Hurt, Ray Winstone and the Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett. While the man with the hat is back, this time he’s not bringing his Dad. Sean Connery, who retired from acting in 2005, said: “I get asked the question so often; I thought it best to make an announcement. I thought long and hard about it and if anything could have pulled me out of retirement it would have been an Indiana Jones film. I love working with Steven and George, and it goes without saying that it is an honor to have Harrison as my son. But in the end, retirement is just too damned much fun. I, do however, have one bit of advice for Junior: Demand that the critters be digital, the cliffs be low, and for goodness sake keep that whip by your side at all times in case you need to escape from the stunt coordinator! This is a remarkable cast, and I can only say, ‘Break a leg, everyone.’ I’ll see you on May 22, 2008, at the theater!”
Principal photography began June 18, 2007 and shooting is officially underway. The video of its first shooting day (no photos though) was posted in indianajones.com, the movie’s official site. Production was last sighted in New Haven, Connecticut last June 28. Apart from the video, IGN tells us that the film, which is set in the 1950s, will “begin with a bang”, literally. Apparently, the opening scene will involve some sort of nuclear detonation — which would follow along the lines of those reports that indicate director Steven Spielberg and his gang are recreating Nellis Air Force Base in Deming, New Mexico (a site that tested nuclear weapons in the late 50s). This LucasFilm Ltd. production will be released by Paramount Pictures worldwide on May 22, 2008.
