Scarlett a no-show in Venice!
By admin | September 2, 2007
The historic 75th Venice Film Festival opened with a bang last August 30 in the city of canals. Several Hollywood A-listers were expected to show up, including Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Keira Knightley, Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Scarlett Johansson. The Nanny Diaries star, Scarlett, was expected to attend the screening of her latest movie on August 31. Much to the disappointment of her Venetian fans, the stunning 22-year old actress did not come. Last year, Scarlett amazed the Venetian crowd but this year, she was nowhere to be seen. Tsk! Tongues were wagging that the reason for her no-show was because of The Nanny Diaries producer, Harvey Weinstein. Apparently he ordered Scarlett to remain in New York to promote the movie and rescue it from flopping after lukewarm critic reviews. Horrible gossip huh?? Still, no need to worry, coz Venetians might still get a chance to see Scarlett as she is expected to attend the world premiere of Woody Allen’s “Cassandra’s Dream” on Sunday. Yep, that’s tomorrow!
